Almirida is a very small fishing village, located 38km east of Rethymnon, near the village of Sises. The village is not touristically developed and is mainly known to locals.
There is a small pier, which protects the small harbor. Next to the harbor, there is a small sandy beach with pebbly seabed. On the beaches there are many trees, where you can find shade. Do not expect very special services, since there are a few rooms and some tavernas. A few meters eastern of the village, near the shore, there are the ruins of the old tax office of carob, which once operated in the area.
