Stomio is a nice beach close to the village of Oxilithos on Evia Island. It’ a very long and wide beach full of small pebbles. The beach is so large that looks empty even at the most busiest days in summer. Its water is clean apart from some days that the waves bring some seaweed at the shore. The waters are quite deep and swimmers must be careful.
You can enjoy various summer sports in Stomio including beach soccer and beach volley or you can relax in the comfortable chairs under the umbrellas offered. During summer 2010, the umbrellas and chairs were offered for free to the customers of the cafeterias nearby. However, there is plenty of room to put your own umbrellas and chairs if you like. There are nice restaurants and bars in the area to enjoy your coffee and food after swimming. One of the attractions of this beach is the firth of a small but floatable river.
On the other hand, one of the cons of the beach, and the other beaches in the area in general, are the strong winds and waves during august that make swimming a bit hard in some cases. In general, Stomio is definitely worth visiting if you happen to be on Evia Island
The beach is full throat Oxilithos pebbles in and out of the sea. Very clean beach as all those bordering the Mediterranean Sea, but can often be a wave. Along the beach (on the road) there are restaurants bars and lodgings.
