Very close to Melbourne, about 30 minutes with the tram. The water doesn't seem to be very clean is very blurry but this might be due to the dark colour of the sand. Very crowdy, there are a few beach volleyball courts near the harbour. It is a calm beach not suitable for surfing.

2. Great sandy beach Manly Beach

Manly is a very nice sandy beach just 30 minutes away from Sydney using the ferry! There are beach volleyball courts on the beach, a restaurant next to it and places where you can rent surf boards! The water is not so clean there are warning signs that it can be dirty after heavy rain but apart from that I think it's a very nice place to visit and very close to a big city such as Sydney.

3. Huge Sand Beach suitable for surfers Surfers Paradise

As its name states, this beach is suitable for surfers! It has a lot of surfing teachers around allowing anyone to take surf courses! It has lifeguards but you can only swim between the designated areas. The water is pretty clean and warm.

4. Great beach for those who love to close to nature! Kedrodasos Beach

Kedrodasos is one of the best beaches in Crete to go if you like to be close to nature! The beach doesn't have any special facilities you can find on a more organized beach, such as umbrellas, canteen, water sports etc. But is very very beautiful, with light blue waters and white sand and has a lot of cedar trees (that's how it got its name). Beware that the cedar trees are protected by Natura Program and it's illegal to free camp there although there are a lot of people doing that.
